One night, not so long ago, I came home to find this on my front porch:
I will tell you upon seeing this sight I let out a little shriek. Nope, not out of horror - one of glee... Does that make me a nut case??? The thing is I love decorating with antlers, they have shown up in many of my blog posts... I know that I am not the only one... I know that I am not...
Anyway, I put the word out that I was in search of antlers and boy did some special folks ever come through for me!
I have a plan for many of these antlers but some of them will also be appearing in my booths:
Rocky Mountain Antique Mall, booth 105
Old Strathcona Mall, booth 202
So if you like antlers like I like antlers then you can pick yourself up a pair too...

girly night stand
A little while ago I completed this little night stand:
I primed and painted the whole thing white and then taped off the top and bottom shelves. After I painted the stripes I lightly distressed them and then sealed everything and called it a day.
I was happy when this little girl found a home with a new family after a very short time at the Rocky Mountain Antique Mall.

painted demilune table
The other day I saw this solid wood table at a local charity shop:
I actually kinda liked it as is, not being one to leave well enough alone...
I transformed it into this:
The drawer looks a little funny in the pics but I assure you it fits in there just fine, I didn't notice that it was ajar in the photos until the piece was already out of the house... I used the same painting technique that I posted about here and then sealed it with wax and buffed it.
This piece is available at my booth, 105, at the Rocky Mountain Antique Mall.

fab finds
People keep the most amazing treasures in their basements. Recently I was invited over to my aunt and uncle's place to scavenge in their basement. You see, they are prepping for a reno and want this stuff OUT. Always obliging, especially when old stuff is involved, I was there in a flash.
Here is one of my fave finds from their house:
What is it?
Well an antique cast iron coffee grinder from the 1800s, of course...
I could have put it in the kitchen, but that would be a little predictable. Plus we have a pretty small kitchen and I like clear working surfaces. So into the living room it went, to act as a sculptural piece. Right now I have it grouped with my magnifying glasses and a silver pedestal bowl (which I picked up at a local thrift store for... wait for it... $4...).
Here is another pic of the bowl - cause I love it so much. Love the beaded detail on the edges!
There are more awesome finds to come, you would not believe some of the stuff I was gifted! So been digging through any basements lately? Any great finds?

BEST craft group EVER
You know how some people are a part of book clubs or have gym memberships, or go for drinks with friends... well I have craft club. Sometimes we try to cool it up by calling ourselves a craft collective, but basically we are a craft club... We try to meet once a week and when we meet we try to bring a craft. Sometimes when we meet there is more holding of the crafts than doing of the crafts - as we also chat, laugh, bitch - basically it is a female get together...
Last weekend we embarked on a new craft club adventure. We participated, as a group, in make it, which is a huge local craft/design/art show. There were so many things that could have gone wrong, but you know what, everything went right. We had a great time. So many laughs. So many high fives. So many coffees. We are planning our next show, which won't be for a little while...
So here we are in our booth. I HATE seeing pics of myself (why do so many of us have this silly hangup), but I am taking one for the team cause these other girls are just so darn cute!
So many of you out there are crafty too, do you have craft clubs too? If you don't I think you should. I promise you won't regret it!
